Our Life Skills Program consists of groups and activities that occur seven days a week at the Inn. In the first weeks of residence, participants complete weekly schedules, which include the full program in addition to individual therapy, psychiatry, case management, support meetings, substance abuse assessments and group check-in. Some individual appointments may be necessarily double scheduled with groups. Full program participation (a minimum of 30 hours per week of work, groups and other approved activities combined) is expected after an initial adjustment period. Once a community work placement has begun, (generally after six weeks), participants continue to participate in some program units based on the recommendations of and permission of the instructor and the case manager to supplement this schedule. The schedule can also be supplemented by college or other courses available in the area. Schedule requirements will be determined by the case manager and/or support worker with client input.

The two main parts of the weekly schedule are the Life Skills Groups and Vocational Program. These program components are integrated for maximum impact and benefit. The daily groups are designed to help clients who aspire to more independent living to achieve that goal. They offer structure and stabilization, skill development, personal growth and emotional support especially in the initial period of residence at Spruce Mountain Inn. Weekly schedules for participants consist of classes, groups and activities that commit each client to a minimum of 30 hours a week. We offer 35 hours per week of groups, led by 14 different instructors.
