Life Skills
Our Life Skills Program consists of groups and activities that occur seven days a week. In the first weeks of residence, participants complete weekly schedules, which include the full group curriculum in addition to individual therapy, psychiatry, case management, comprehensive skills assessment, support meetings, substance abuse assessment, and Group Check-Ins. Over time, we develop a comprehensive treatment plan that may address goals that range from clinical issues to practical skills.
Once a community work placement has begun, (generally after six weeks), clients continue to participate in some program elements based on the recommendations of the group leaders and the case manager. The schedule can also be supplemented by college or other courses available in the area. Schedule requirements will be determined by the case manager and/or support worker with client input. Full program participation (a minimum of 30 hours per week of work, groups and other approved activities combined) is expected after an initial adjustment period.
