Spruce Mountain Inn is located in Plainfield, Vermont near the foot of Spruce Mountain. Only nine miles from Montpelier, the capital city of Vermont, the Inn is easily accessible by car, bus, Amtrak train and plane. Burlington International Airport, little more than an hour’s drive, provides service to all major cities in the U.S.
By Car: Take Interstate 89 (north or south depending on your point of origin) to Exit 8, Montpelier, and follow US Route 2 toward Plainfield. Approaching Plainfield you will see a sign to Goddard College on the left followed by a Post Office on the right. Turn right at the Post Office and follow the drive directly to the Inn. Please enter the Inn through the office.
By Train or Bus: Amtrak and Vermont Transit both have stations in Montpelier. Someone from the Inn will meet you upon arrival if prior arrangements have been made.
By Plane: Burlington, (BTV); USAirways, Northwest, United, Continental, Delta, Air Tran and JetBlue are among the airlines with jet service to Burlington. Taxi service is available or cars may be rented from an agent at the airport who will direct you to Route 89 South. Take Exit 8, Montpelier and follow directions above to Plainfield. If you are traveling alone, someone from the Inn can meet your plane if prior arrangements have been made.
