"We are writing to thank you, and all the rest of the Spruce Mountain Inn team for the wonderful care you gave to our son during his stay there. We feel he grew three years in the nine months he spent under your care and returned home ready to have a life, and relationship with us and others"

Life Skill Groups

A structured schedule of groups and activities is available to help participants face emotional challenges and work toward greater autonomy through:

  • increasing their emotional stability
  • developing healthy, supportive relationships
  • learning or improving daily living skills
  • developing and achieving appropriate vocational/educational goals

The daily groups are designed to help clients who aspire to more independent living to achieve that goal. They address needs for structure and stabilization, skill development, personal growth and emotional support particularly in the initial period of residence at Spruce Mountain Inn. Weekly schedules for participants consist of classes, groups and activities that commit each client to a minimum of 30 hours of weekly time. We offer over 40 hours per week of groups, led by 12 different instructors.
